There are lots of versions listed on iTunes, and you can try 30 second clips to evaluate each track - there might be one suitable, but I didn't see the particular version you mentioned.

You know a lot of people just speed their music up a little bit. All you have to do is download the track and then you can pop it into any number of free online digital music editing suites and just speed up the Tempo (like you used to be able to do with a record player except with more control) a little. I know a lot of people who do that with Julie London's music. Her songs are great..when you speed them up.

I use Roni Music's "Amazing Slow Downer" to tweak my dance music. I reckon that I have about doubled the number of danceable tracks from my collection by checking and altering the speed of tracks that are "nearly", but not quite right.

Good tracks at up to 50% original speed (but at original pitch) are also great to use with beginner's classes!

One yr and starting P/Body !.. thats impressive. It used to be in the Gold standard many moons back, and its only the 2nd time Ive heard it mentioned in the past 25 yrs !!. You must be in NYC (?).

If you like that, you may be interested in Quickstep ( closely related )

I'm glad you were able to find a suitable version of Bourbon Street Parade (great song!). Another good one is Twelfth Street Rag. Our instructor used that one a lot when he taught us Peabody. I have a 2 MB MP3 of Twelfth Street Rag I could send you; just provide an email address.

Several people suggested using a sound editing program to change the tempo (without changing the pitch). Audacity is a free program that can do that, along with quite a few other things. If you do sound editing but you don't quite need a full-strength professional editing program, Audacity is a good choice.

Wilbur de Paris has an excellent up-tempo version of the Bourbon Street Parade. Perfect tempo for a Peabody and a "hot' Charleston. Download it on
i-Tunes. Enjoy!
