Re: invitation code

Hi Paraedd,

The email with the invitation code is sent the very moment you request it. Although it is possible that it could be delayed by a slow mail server, chances are good that if you don't receive it within a minute or two, it's probably not coming.

The first thing to do is check the junk mail folder of your email program. Occasionally our invitation code emails are mistaken as spam, so it's a good place to check when it doesn't arrive in your inbox. Unfortunately, your ISP can filter the email message before it even reaches your mail program, and there's not much we can do about that. If you've already checked your junk mail folder and it's not there, chances are good your ISP has filtered it.

Some ISPs will allow you to whitelist certain senders' addresses, but many will not. It's worth calling them to find out, but if they don't, you may not be able to use that email address for our website. If you want to open a user account on BallroomDancers.com, we need to be able to communicate with you regarding your account, which is the entire purpose of our requiring an invitation code.

If you have a pesky ISP, one workaround is to create a new email address with a different company that provides them, such as Gmail.

Jonathan Atkinson
