You said you have no experience in ballroom dancing. Try it first. You dont need a partner to get started. Find a good quality studio, take group lessons, if you still like it take private lessons and do pro-am competitions. If you still like it, find a partner at that point. You may be very talented and learn very fast especially as you know other dances. You probably have good balance, flexibility and posture, but what you are suggesting is equivalent to without getting your foot wet to set a goal as a swimming champion.
