Shes taking them to court

Jonathan If you dont want to print this I understand. A young lady on the 19th Aug 06 was the winner in a major Amateur Championship. She had taken a Herbal Slimming remedy from a local Health Spa called Meizitang. Not listed on the ingredients, it contained Sibutramine, which according to the IDSF is a banned sustance.According to their own rules there is a no fault clause Article 5 (1 ) (1 ) of the IADC. Which she claimed and was ignored. Also the Chairman of the Disiplinary is required to be able to be fluent in speaking and writting the English language. Which he wasn't. Now the IDSF are stripping her of her title, trophy and the prize money. The IDSF say an athelete cannot claim ignorance, and yet there is a clause which says they can, and in other sports has been accepted. The athelete has now turned Professional and can tell them where to shove their jar. But she is still taking them to court. All of the above can be found if you google Daniute.

Edita:

You go girl. We all know who won, and IDSF needs their own urine tested if they are smoking something that makes them think their opinion can change that.

Terence2. In my way of thinking. the substance contained in the Herbal Remedy and not listed as part of the ingrediants, did not make her dance any better. She was winning before getting tested and after a three month ban won the British at Blackpool. Why would anyone who was sweeping all before them before and after. Need I say more. To me it seems to be what we commonly refer to as political.Go Edita

Completely agree !! -- there is no known substance, that can make a heel turn better , or rise, sustained .

Shows how little the " drug " boards know about dancing !!

The one thing that may improve-- stamina , but if you dont have the " tools " to back it up, so what !

With the substance abuse rules as they are, this could possibly happen. You maybe are an older competitor. You have a slight tremor in your hands and can still manage to dance. You are on a medication to help with the problem. Because a shooter can not take anything to steady the hand your medicine is banned. Which means you would not be able to row a boat or take part in any sport which are now registered with the IOC including Ballroom dancing..
I'll add this in answer to your other subject concerning Len. This professional I once new was having a lesson with one of those super teachers. When he asked what timing he should use he was told. How do I know, your the one dancing it.

"Because a shooter can not take anything to steady the hand your medicine is banned. Which means you would not be able to row a boat or take part in any sport which are now registered with the IOC including Ballroom dancing.."

Wrong on two counts.

First, the banned substances list is not the same for every sport. There is a base list, and then additions per sport. And yes, shooting sports band certain calming agents not banned in others.

Second, there are therapeutic use exemptions for some legitimate medical uses. The application paperwork is complicated and probably requires a doctor with previous experience filling it out. And don't trust the IDSF officials to tell you how to do it, because they've told people wrong and then punished them for following that advice.

But yes, the doping controls are way out of control and rapidly approaching the point where an ordinary person cannot compete without taking the risk of incidentally violating them. AT Beijing olympics, it seems merely breathing the local excuse for air might produce a positive result!

Yes its getting a bit stupid. There is a International cricketer who copped a ban for taking Lasix (frusemide )which is a fliud tablet to stop the body from over storing fliud. There are probably many people who compete in ballroom dancing on that medication in the older bracket. Tell me if I am wrong. As an ametuer competitor this substance is forbiden. As a professional competitor it isn't.
