Fact Sheet
Official Name: | Open Left Turn to Outside Swivel |
Dance / Level: | Intermediate Bronze American Style Tango |
Aliases: | Open Left Turn to Fan, La Puerta |
Suggested Prerequisites: | None |
The Open Left Turn to Outside Swivel is a short amalgamation of two 6-count Open Left Turn / Outside Swivel actions, followed by a forward Tango Close.
Each 6-count movement is a combination of steps 1-2 of an Open Left Turn (QQ), followed by an Outside Swivel (S,S). The first one begins with man facing diagonal center and ends facing against line of dance. The second continues with man facing against line of dance and ends facing diagonal wall. The Tango Close can be danced without turn, or turned up to 3/8 to left, allowing for many possibilities of finishing alignments.
As with all combinations using this 6 + 6 + 4 phrasing, either of the 6-count movements can be replaced with any other 6-count movement, such as a 6-Count Basic, 1-4 of Rock to Corte, Closed or Open Promenade, etc.
