With the video of the Foxtrot Final 2006 from Blackpool being shown on www.thedancingchannel.tv We can compare notes by watching both Timothy Howson and Christopher Hawkins on their Feather Step and Reverse Turn. If you hit the space bar you can get frame by frame. Both of these guys had to withdraw from this years through injury. Look for the straight Knees and the suspension between the heel of the front foot and the toe of the back foot. Ladies look how far the lady reaches on her backward extention. Where is the weight situated. The man also..Do they go into a neutral position after the Feather. There's lots to see by the worlds best and it doesn't cost anything. Go to it

More about the Blackpool video. Did anybody notice the amount of absolute basic steps being used . Timothy Howson starts on side one through two to side three across four back to side one where the camera turns off him. All absolute basics 12 bars. It would have taken another couple of bars to reach the corner. I would imagine that he would have used the remainder of the phrasing before making his way to the centre. That would have completed 16 bars of music. If you count the music it is played at 28bpm and there are 64 bars played all told after the 4 bar introduction. The music is 8 bar phrased. Who can pick out the phrasing . You will see it stops right on the dot at the end of the of 64th bar of music. Can any lady see the slightly delayed step as Timothy 's partner presents the Wave to the judges.. Its worth watching Christopher Hawkins in a freeze frame after his swivell into a Feather Step. If you freeze as his right foot is level with the left on step two to three. Look how high both heels are off the floor at that point. See how Mirko Gozzili does a Fallaway and Slip Pivot right in the corner, which is top right on your screen. Who said you can't learn from a video.
