"What's New Pussycat?" by Tom Jones is in my music library for that very reason. You describe it perfectly.
I just don't know if it qualifies as "modern" enough for what Telemark is needing. The song must be what, about 45 years old now? That in itself is hard to believe, isn't it?
I would also agree that in a wedding setting, you'd have to be careful. It might not be the proper message or the right song for certain crowds or couples.

I love the theme from 'Harry Potter'. No lyrics but a great VW and very recognizable.

Thanks for the suggestions, so far.

I had forgotten Iris, but I have it. I'm not sure that it would really work for a wedding, and a real obstacle is that it is 4:50 long!

I LOVE dancing to What's New Pussycat - but it is hardly 'modern', as someone said. Delilah is another Tom Jones VW'able track, but not really suitable.

I quite like Enya's Caribbean Blue, and Patrizio Buane's 'Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman' goes at a very moderate tempo, but would suit inexperienced dancers for that very reason.

Any other ideas will be very welcome.

Hi Telemark,
We dance quite frequently to Kiss from a Rose by Seal. It's pretty slow and romantic. You should check it out.

Telemark. Anniversary Waltz Sung by Tom Jones. About 40 bars a minute which is nice and slow
Oh how we danced on the night we were wed
We vowed our true love though a word wasn't said
The world was in bloom there were stars in the skies
Except for the few that were there in your eyes
The song is from the Jolson Story written by Al Jolson

I also like the Seal and Enya suggestions, Caribbean Blue has a nice long intro where you can be creative.
Mr Bojangle is nice but slow - there are a few versions about.
Also "Golden Brown" by The Stranglers is a medium speed VW.

"A New Day" by Celine Dion has a really good tempo and it's a very pretty song. There are two versions though... One is a bit cheesy, in my opinion, but the other is lovely. I believe you can find both on iTunes where you can sample them. It's actually supposed to be about Celine's kid, but if you don't know that, it sounds very romantic!

"We never Change" by Coldplay is also an interesting VW, although I can't vouch for the lyrics, as I've never really paid attention.

I hope this helps, and I'll post again if I can think of any other songs that have not already been mentioned.

:) Lorena

Tourner a Trois. Here's a link:

VW is an ambitious choice for a wedding dance, but I like it.

I see the link didn't show up. Trying again:

If it still doesn't show up, just do a Google search for the song title. It's a Yahoo Music link, and came up first in my search
