The first dance music ever was probably somebody beating a rhythm on a hollow log. This would have led eventually to a drum , and there it would have stayed for several thousand years. I think I am safe in suggesting that dance first started in Africa when the world was very young. And African Dancing was the fore runner of all dancing.
I was watching some only last week. It can be very clever and has in it a lot of technique.

I'm sure Me has a reason, but only Me might know what it is. My reason is 1/2 smart alec and 1/2 serious. I want to know what the connection is between a hollow log and a drum. I will concede both are percussion intruments, but is the hollow log the precursor to the drum? And back when early man, I presume, was beating on the hollow log, did they know they were on land that would one day be called Africa? They should have just burned the log and roasted marshmellows, but what do I know?
As for Jackie, I have seen her on that talent show, (my wife made me watch it) and the girl is amazing. She should turn out to be one of the world's greatest singers in her lifetime. Apparently she grew up mimicing other singers and particularly the shapes of their mouths, as they sang. She's a pleasure to listen to.
