Hello, Im getting married and my fiance and I would like to dance to Something by the Beatles, what type of dance do you suggest we dance to?

I think that "Yesterday" makes a very good Bolero. I'm not sure that it sticks strictly to the Bolero "formula" of groups of 8 measures. But there are some syllabus patterns with different numbers of measures (there is one pair, 9 measures and 7 measures, that I typically dance in sequence with "normal" Bolero music). Give it a try.

If you are experienced, choreograph a lyrical dance to "Something." I suspect you are not experienced, though, as you likely wouldn't have to ask for suggestions, because the truth is, the song is too slow for any standard ballroom dance.
That would be my opinion, but again, something free-flowing and lyrical could be done by excellent dancers.
"Something" is a nice song for illustrating wedding love, but if you are a Beatles fan, in general, there are likely better choices. I have done Fox Trot to "Do You Want to Know a Secret" and it was pretty good for that.

To answer your original question, I would say Foxtrot (you may have to dance it at double the tempo some people will "hear"). It might also work as a Rumba (American style; it doesn't seem well suited to International style).

One prescription for learning to play jazz is: First, learn all about music. Then learn all about your instrument. Then forget all that and just play. The same principle applies to your wedding dance. Work out some choreography (so you won't have to think too hard about what to do next) and practice it. Than forget about it and just dance to the music. Something about "Something" makes you want to move. Listen to the music. And congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Of course the Beatles "And I love her" is a great Rumba.
If you can find the original mono version from A Hard Day's Night sung by Paul it is a bit slower and more suited for the dance.
Search Youtube for I love her (rare version).

I kind of hear Nightclub Two-Step, which considering how accented the music is, with certain parts being more orchestral and sweeping, could work really well.

Congratulations on the wedding! Best of luck in this new chapter of your lives together!

Usually in Latin, when there appears to be an additional bar, its the sign of a clave change.. after which the next sequence would be 8 bars.. not too common .

And, if you chose a Rumba for your dance, then there are hundreds of choices which would be appropriate .Otherwise, most of the Pop style music is very Foxtrot oriented .

I said Rumba by the way, because its probably the essier choice.
