What would you call a repeating step in ballroom dance choreography? In music it would be called a refrain.

Have never heard that question before, and have also never heard anyone make a reference to a repeating step, other than stressing its continuation in one direction of a specific set of steps -- either a grapevine, a promenade, forward or backward progressives, cha-cha walks, fans, etc. Will be interested to see if there is any other terminology for repeating steps.

I was referring to a dance pattern that repeats.

I don't think that there IS a term specifically to refer to repeating a pattern or figure.
