Teaching ballroom dance steps to YEAR 1

My class are off to see Cinderella in January and I was hoping to change my dance lessons to ballroom dancing, onn their own, with partners and then girls and boys. I have limited experience of this type of dance and would appreciate any guidance for the easiest dance steps to teach 5 year olds!
Thanks! Here's hoping!

A simple Box step in Waltz. May I suggest only 30min. lessons twice weekly.

For 5 year olds, a lively kind of dance and/or music will motivate them and will be lots of FUN. If I were five years old and would be asked to learn/do a dance, I would choose EAST COAST SWING/Jive. It will make them playful and I believe that they will have lots of fun. Based on my experience teaching ballroom dancing, younger people learn a lot faster than their older counterpart. GOOG LUCK!

I would have to agree with franco and say teach something fun, such as the Jive or Rock n roll. You want something they can enjoy and find exciting and playful at the same time. I think once you have their attention and they start enjoying the dances you can introduce some of the others such as Waltz for example. Good luck!
