Hi James,
I get this question a lot, and usually the answer is You have two user accounts. If your account is truly renewed, which it appears yours is, then our program absolutely will not send you another renewal notice for that account (well, at least, not for another year). So it has to be coming from another user account, registered to a different email address, which is probably then forwarding to your main email address.
I thought I'd solved this problem once and for all last year when I stopped allowing people to register more than one account per email address. However, what I've found is that people use forwarding email addresses for secondary user accounts, which lends itself to the same type of confusion. And there's nothing I can do to prevent people from using forwarding addresses.
If you remember creating another user account, try to think of what other email address you may have used to create that account. Then do a password recovery on that email address. If you can't locate this other account, let me know and I'll do some more research.
And hey, if all else fails, the worst that can happen is your older account -- presumably the one you've forgotten about -- will expire. But I guarantee with 100% confidence that the account you're currently using (the one you just renewed) will not expire for another year, even if you receive an email that says otherwise.
Keep me posted.

Jonathan Atkinson
