Yes, but people rarely describe steps that they don't personally know with a high degree of factual accuracy.

Instead, they tell you the impressions that they are left with.

If the conversation where in person, you'd say "oh, do you mean this?" and demo it, and they'd say yes, or no, or sort of but different.

After browsing youtube I found the step at 0:52/1:48 of this video:

They did not hold the pose but I've seen others did.

So what's the name of this step and what level is it (bronze, silver, gold)?

I looked up the steps that others mentioned, x-line and same foot lunge, but did not find any video demonstrating those steps.

That was the Throwaway Oversway (Advanced Level).

In gif link hesitation posted the man was on his right leg with his left leg out.

At 0:52 of this video, he is on his left leg with his right leg out.

Not the same step.

Read my post.. Its what I said it was, and the timing is a standard V.W, 1,2,3 , with NO hesit. in between L and R curtsy.

Depending on which side was led first, would determine the direction ( Nat or Rev. ) of the next figure .

Thats the way we taught it and danced it.
