The advantage is that if you are shorter and dancing with a taller man it makes you taller.

Also...some shoe companies only carry certain shoes in the higher heels.

They will absolutely wreck your jive so don't bother even trying. They also make it very difficult to maintain balance and your feet hurt way sooner in them...
