I offer two suggestions:

1. The more technique lessons, the better. Steps (foot positions) are not that hard to learn, and your Bronze #5 may not be the same as the Fred Astaire Bronze #5 in the same dance (and Fred's #5 is not the same as USISTD, etc.).

2. Peabody is a dance that is overlooked these days. Our instructor gave us a set of Peabody lessons, and we found that a) it's not so hard and b) it's also a lot of fun.
