If my teachers are correct, the four types of hip action are:

1) Settling
2) Lateral
3) Rotational
4) Twisting

Ah thanks, I couldn't come up with Twisting.

I like dancing Int. Rumba, but in my area few dance it. We get lots of Am. Rumba music or Bolero music and never any Latin Rumba music. Has anyone tried to dance Int. Rumba to Am. Rumba music? I have changed the beat and use QQ in place of 2-3. Am Rumba is much faster and dancing Int. Rumba to Bolero music just doesn't feel right. Any ideas on dancing Int. Rumba to Am Rumba or Bolero music?

Im a little confused by your definition of Amer. music ?.. as in Pop ?.. or Rumbas to Amer./ English songs ?

Bolero, at the correct tempo would be way to slow for either Amer. or Intern. style .

And, when you say Rumba, there is also authentic Cuban Rumba which again is different .
