Been watching the Paso Doble taught by Corky Ballas. He pronounces the Banderillas as BandeRILLAS. I've always known it as the BandeREARS.

Has anybody else been instructed that the first step of a Botofogo should be exactly the same as the first step of a a Volta, which is heel to toe. That to go into a step across isn't being done anymore.

I have been taught that the first step of the Volta is the same a s Bota Fogo.
It looks a little different when dancing due to the angles created by the slight twisting of the Bota Fogo. The heel lead is not as obvious as in the Voltas.

Anonymous. We must remember that we have Botofogo's where we are facing our partner, or with our partner facing the same way. We have travelling facing the same direction. And we have one where we change sides opposite to each other both facing the same way.And of course where the lady is moving backwards with some progression. Each has a name which I haven't used/

Hi Luv2
I agree with you. If it's the Slavik & Karina DVD he also starts them off in CPP for the PP to CPP Botofogos. A technician he is not!

No mention of the lady's turn in the closed rocks. Tut tut. Very misleading for anyone studying for a degree.
