De Hombre A Mujer by Donato & Estefano is a good one.
Dimelo by Marc Anthony is another.

Like Dimelo but it has kind of been overdone lately. I'll have to listen to De Hombre a Mujer since I don't know that one off the top of my head.

Actually did a rhumba routine to Kiss the Girl (Disney country song). Love that song!

Taking JJ's hint re: familiarity, may I suggest these two remake songs circa late 1950's or early 1960's that are very good cha cha dance:
1. Save The Last Dance For Me - by Michael Buble; and
2. Sway - also by Michael Buble.
Good luck!!!

Love Sway but unfortunately too overdone. Love Michael Buble. Don't know why I didn't think of that one.

OK,SWAY is definitely overdone but i think the Pussy Cat Doll version has more sizzle than Michael Buble's. I went to You Tube and really enjoyed some of the more "Latino" music mentioned in this thread.

Most of the top teachers are not in favour of a tune being sung in any of the International Style Dances.
At Blackpool with a live band there are no vocals.
In a competition I woould prefere not to dance to a disk that is being sung.
But when dancing Socialy I like , for a Cha Cha. Lady Marmalade or Down Under
by Men at Work. A bit od advice. If you are in a competition and you are dancing a Waltz for instance. Do take note of the beats being played and not the singer. A singer cannot sing the three beats. Imagine if you can singing the first few bars of Moon River. It would become a real stop start thing.

Funny, Irvines were one of the first to use vocals.. and, I dont think they did too bad !!

As to " latin" ( and the songs you quoted, really dont qualify ) the WHOLE point of the music is, that its telling a story AND ,its the whole point of the genre ! .
