Re: Variation of the Week

Sort of.

The variation of the week is set specifically to rotate, so that a new one appears each week, replacing the last one. So the variation page itself cannot be flagged, or you would be returning later to a new and different pattern than the one you flagged.

However, Premium users can view all previous variations, and they can be viewed in two different places. One is the variation page, and the other is in the syllabus, e.g. "Learn the Dances" section. For example, if you saw Waltz variation #2 as a variation of the week and you wanted to mark it, you could go to the American style Waltz syllabus (Learn the Dances > American Waltz > Syllabus), scroll down to the open gold variations, and click on Waltz variation #2. Viewing it on the syllabus page will give you all the same options as any other syllabus pattern, including marking favorites and printing of man's and lady's parts.

Basic and non-members can also mark favorite variations in this way, but they will only be able to view the written descriptions here.

It won't be impossible for me to expand the favorites tool to include the variation of the week with some clever programming -- I just haven't gotten there yet. Ultimately I'd like to expand it to include many aspects of the website, such as message board topics, classified ads, shopping items, etc. In the meantime, you do have this one way of marking variations.

Jonathan Atkinson
