Dressy Dance clothes?

Where does a man get a dark suit, or a Tux, that will dance?

Must they be special made? What material should they be made of?

Is it possible to get a Dance suit for a reasonable price?

Another problem is how to keep cool while dancing with a suit on.

If I have to dress up for a special dance, I really want to be able to dance when they play music.

Any suggestions?

Speaking only as a girl...men's clothes for dance, particulalry the jacket are cut differently than a regular jacket because they are meant to lay flat rathar than to gather when in frame. When you aren't in frame I hear they are very uncomfortable and don't look as good as a usual jacket. If you have a trusted tailor tell them what you want. Otherwise you can sometimes get one in the classifieds here, at a comp you have people who sell them there or you can forego the jacket while dancing if you have a very nice vest.

Just a thought...good luck!

Unless the occasion is ultra-formal, I rarely wear a jacket to dance. I do wear a silk waistcoat (vest) and bow tie with a dressy shirt, but I can still 'keep cool'.

If the dance is 'black tie', I will wear a regular Dinner Jacket (Tuxedo), but remove it before taking to the floor.

I agree with Telemark. A vest and a nice shirt combination is a good way to dress. I have found that many formal wear, rental shops will rent just these items to customers, and they often have nice selections to fit the occasion and / or your tastes if you don't want to buy the items.
