Places to dance inside in NYC are closing. But New Yorkers are not shutting down their dancing. Previously the NYTimes reported tango dancing at a number of outdoor places in the big city. Now the NYTimes reports outdoor dancing to a Latin beat: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/23/arts/dance/23salsa.html?_r=1&hp
I recall a couple of decades ago when the Smithsonian Folk Festival featured Cajun food and dancing. There was a virtual cloud of dry dirt arising from the hundreds and hundreds who did Cajun dancing on the Mall and covering shoes, socks, legs, pants, etc. and filling nostrils. But what fun!
Dance in the day and dance in the night. Dance in the street. Dance on the grass. Dance on the roofs. Wherever there's space, dance. "Dance free until the morning light. And everything is gonna be alright ..."
