Hi! I'm 53 years old man from Seoul and now learning jive and rumba, waltz... In korea, because most dance clubs are playing Korean music it is difficult to have good feeling at music. And, they asked dancers to pay
Korean Won 2,000(U$2) for entrance fee. Owing to such low fee, the club is always dirty. How about dance club in other country, such as entrance fee, quality, music style? How interesting it is to dance waltz at 4/4 rhythm in Korean dance club...

Wonjun. Where I live in Australia a Social Class lasting 2 hours would cost $12.
Two dances would be taught, maybe the Quickstep and the Cha Cha , each taking about half an hour. The rest of the time would be spent dancing what has been taught. You would be expected to change partners and not to dance with the same person all night. The teachers are fully qualified.
A Technique Class where they go into more detail, Swing. Sway. CBM. CBMP.Correct rise and fall and so on. This would be a one hour class and would cost about the same,
By the way. You can't dance a Waltz to 4/4 time. 3/4 time, thats 3 beats to one bar of music is correct.

You missed his point.. He was telling you that the ONLY thing they play is 4/4, to which he tries to dance waltz.. hes on time every 3 bars !!

I'm in Canada. In my city, there are a few venues that are strictly ballroom. Some are associated with the dance schools, others with a community centre. The entrance fee is $7.00 - $10.00 Cdn for a 3 hour party. The music is chosen especially for ballroom/latin dances. Some offer a short lesson, most don't.

Anonymous,
Then please provide the information you have been requested on the other post. At least the title of the article, the month of the particular issue and the Author. Then that can be put to bed. Incidently, I realize that one of your posts was a derect quote from the article. ( cuban heels etc )
