Wedding Dance

My fiance and I would like to practice our first dance before the wedding. We've found plenty of instructional videos on Waltzing and two-stepping, but I'm not sure which we should use for our song? We've chosen The Rolling Stones' rendition of "That's how strong my love is"

Is this a waltz or a two-step, or something else? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks

Hey Seanzy,
This song is great I love the Stones. My best advice to you is to go with a nightclub 2 step.... As for waltz, its super fast!!! even for a V. waltz.... Have fun with it and congrats!!!

Your best bet would be to take lessons at a ballroom dance studio (as opposed to a video). Let them know it is for a wedding- they usually have discounted wedding packages, and you'd like a routine that fits your song. You would want to do this months in advance- if you wait to the last minute, you will be too busy getting everything else ready and it could strain your relationship. Enjoy it!

I listened to it and think it's fine for a wedding dance. I would also agree that you should seek lessons from a dance instructor who can best guide you and choreograph a custom dance for you. The cost of a few lessons are well worth it.

As with all the previous posts I agree with it being a two step. I think it is far too fast for a VW! Enjoy your wedding day and all the best for the future :)

Good timing for a Night Club 2-step in the Ballroom or Swing style. Too fast for CW (UCWDC) style.

We do not like to teach NC2 as first dance because it's too much of a directional dance. If you start off East-West it takes effort to change the direction. That makes it hard for the guests to see all sides of the dance.

Sorry, can't hear any Waltz timing at all.

You don't state when your wedding date is, so I'm curious to know how this came out. Perhaps you'll tell us. I agree find a good dance teacher to help you.
