Black screens on videos?

I'm seeing a lot of videos with just a black / blank screen - no upgrade note, just a very thin play / stop bar about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the video window.

I'm running Google Chrome with Windows 7. Browser issue? BDC server issue?

Thanks!

I see the same problem with the Chrome browser. The same videos, however, play fine in Safari.

Ok, I'll give it a go with IE and maybe Firefox as soon as I get a chance.

When you say you're "seeing a lot of videos...", does that mean some will play and some won't?

If so, please give me a small list of ones that will and ones that won't play, and I'll look into what kinds of qualities set them apart that might be causing the problem for you.

If absolutely none of the videos are playing in one browser while all of them are in another, then it's likely to either be a problem related to your Flash installation, or perhaps the way certain browsers interpret the Javascript that assists in rendering the video. My first guess is Javascript, since you say you're seeing an empty play/stop bar, which means that Flash is likely loaded and working fine.

I'll check Google Chrome and IE7 under Windows 7 and let you know what I find.

Regards,
Jonathan

Checked Google Chrome on Windows 7 and had no problems, so I would suggest checking your Flash installation if none of the videos are playing.

I did, however, discover that IE7 is having some difficulty, and it looks like it may be related to Javascript. It's going to be a little more difficult to analyze, however, because IE's script debugging tools don't seem to be showing any errors. Any outside help from developers would be appreciated...

Jonathan

Most (?) videos do play with Chrome, however I've not had a chance to go through all of them to see which play and which do not.

Addendum: Am style rumba #12 Cuban walks. Backward walks played fine, forward walks showed the black video window with the bar, then backward walks would not play - black video window again. I was running on a Toshiba netbook with a T-Mobile wireless stick, Chrome, and 7.

Firefox and XP work fine on my desktop right now.
