It is normal to dance 1/4 to L over 4-6 of a Reverse Turn (following a Spin Turn), in order to achieve the alignment of facing diagonal to wall, before commencing the following figure. However, the more usual 3/8 to L can be danced as well, ending facing line of dance, with alternative follows.
A good and straightforward combination is to dance a Spin Turn, (either at a corner or along the side of the room), in each case ending backing diagonal to centre, followed by 4-6 of a Reverse Turn (making 3/8 to L, ending facing line of dance), followed by 1-3 of a Reverse Turn (making 3/8 to L again, ending backing diagonal to wall), and then dancing a Basic Weave, checking back on man's RF.
Another figure that works well from 4-6 of a Reverse Turn ended facing line of dance is the rather old-fashioned Drag Hesitation & Back Lock. My Society dropped the figure from its most recent syllabus revision, which was a shame: I like it, and intend to try and keep it alive around here!
