Does anyone know of any great country songs that would work for foxtrot. The options are so limited and I can't seem to find a thing. Help?

Well you might want to if you go to a country place and country is all they play. We do it, but no one knows what the heck we are doing and we get a lot of questions. We even find some stuff we can do quickstep to. And even bolero. We don't mind being weird. It's a lot better than sitting. We can do two step too, but most country bands don't know what music works for what type dance, and what you get ends up being random chance.

Don't Tell Me What to Do by Pam Tillis
Goin' Gone by Kathy Mattea
The Bed You Made for Me by Highway 101
I'd Choose You Again by the Forester Sisters
All My Ex's Live in Texas by George Strait
This listing comes from the following site:

There are quite a few others but most if not all would frown upon my taste of "non-traditional" dance music.

I'm not sure if this is exactly a country song, though it sounds like it to me:

"Speaking Of Happiness," by Gloria Lynne.

Excellent Foxtrot, with the right "feel."

You can't beat Lyle Lovett. Just browse songs by artist on iTunes and you'll find some great stuff. My favorite is "She's No Lady". Others include "Big Dog", "Good Intentions", "No Big Deal", "My Baby Don't Tolerate", "Stand By Your Man", and "She Makes Me Feel Good".

He also has some decent 6/8 country Waltzes for dancing Viennese.

Country two-step isn't much different from the Fox Trot in timing and steps, from what I can tell. I always liked "Maria" as a Fox Trot, though it is a tad faster than what you'd normally do. Still, it's a fun song to dance to. But if you are going to dance to country, do the country steps, if you know them.
