Engineered wood over 2 layers of OSB vers over a rubber pad and Nail it or float it?

Wouldn't nails restrict the movement you put the pad in there to allow?

From what I've heard, the state of the art is clips which attach the boards to each other, while leaving the whole assembly floating with respect to the subfloor. Remember the gap around the edge so you don't get bulging "ridgelines" from expansion.

Use real wood and float the floor.

When my instructor was trying out different studios we went to one that has a Pergo floor. OMG that is scary stuff! It is so slick I was afraid to pushing my movements as I would at competition. Plus the floor is set on cement. There is NO give and my knees were killing me. I told my instructor to find a different place to teach. I would NOT risk so much on a junky floor and neither should he.

OSB Plywood spaced and turned nail to wood not if pad was being used. I agree wood for top layer.
