Since I began ballroom not too long ago, I've been taking one on one lessons with a teacher in order to get my skills up enough in order for me to join a social class. Apparently I progressed quicker than was expected (I had done ballroom a few years before) and they deemed me ready for a permanent partner to train with until competition ready.
They found someone of similar age and skill to me and I'm meeting him in 2 days to have a try out and see if we fit well together. Just today I was informed that my potential partner goes to the same school as me but is two years above. I was then given a name and physical description and I was quick to realize that not only does he go to the same school as me, but he's in my home room. At my school there are about 15 people (3 from each year group) in the same home room and you only spend 15 minutes a day there.
The guy and I have spoken about twice. I wasn't even vaguely aware that he dances! How do I make it less awkward when we meet and have to dance together, seeing as we've known each other for the past 3 years and have barely made eye contact?
